Geology is knowledge about the Earth, Astronomy is knowledge about the Universe, so Theology is knowledge about God, right? Well, not in so many words, it seems.
* We live in a knowledge-based civilization, and we know it. If we don’t get this right, we have no message for our world. (Our silence is deafening).
* Theology has always known it is talking about the ultimate mystery, and must do so in the humblest of terms. Can the clay describe the potter?
* Yet the biblical writers generally depict knowledge of God as not only attainable but essential for human well-being and authenticity.
* What sort of “knowledge” are they and we talking about? It is a broad concept.
* Is knowledge of God personal, collective, or both?
* Christian knowledge of God has a trinitarian structure.
