After a long intermission (Lent-Holy Week-Easter) we can at last get back to Luke’s Gospel, our focus in Year C of the lectionary. The story picks up in Luke Chapter 7. Jesus has just set out the conditions for discipleship (his version of Matthew’s Sermon on the Mount). Now he demonstrates the saving power of his message in a ministry of healing. First candidate – a Roman centurion widely regarded as worthy of the help he seeks for his valued slave. But is that how God’s grace works? My take on the story is found here. Please leave comments!
